Went out with Samuel last night and mowed the runway then flew the sturdy
birdy a little bit. Ditched it in the weeds again. No real serious damage.
When we were retrieving it Samuel stepped on a rattle snake. Fortunately
the snake was more concerned with getting away rather than retribution.
Just a note of caution for people that have to go out there to watch out for
our little slithering friends.

Buggars-- yesterday I was watching, and the wind came up pretty early in
the day, and was "brisk" by job-end.....
Today, it was looking better. Overcast, but at noon it was pretty still.
Plane ready to go. I had visions of flight while in a budget meeting! I was
out briefly at around 3, and crap it was starting to blow. By 5pm, trees
were bending over.
So I just headed home. I just checked the wind at the Hammer site, and it
is 15, gusting 22.
Frustrating! Talked with Craig Christensen, and he agrees this has been the
worst spring for flying either of us has experienced.

If the weather holds I think I will hit the field after work. With the
cloud cover the sun won't be an issue. Just if the wind will stay down.
Samuel and I signed up to mow the lawn this week so will do that
first...assuming it isn't already done. Last couple weeks someone has
already mowed it. Much to Samuel's frustration! Wish I had that much
enthusiasm to mow a lawn. If the wind stays down you ought to come. I'll
throw an extra plane in on the way out.

I am usually off by 5:30 or 6 also. In the past, would throw the plane in
the back of the truck and haul to work, so i don't have to go home to fetch
them. The only problem is that the sun really gets in your eyes that late.
We take off and land from the east side, and fly perpendicular to the runway
on the east side.
Steve

Hi Scott-- yes I really need a flying fix. Hope we can get together
after the heli fly. Maybe we need to try after work!
I'll pass on your question concerning mowing to the contest director,
Rob Opgenorth..... Rob, see below....

special you would like donw with the helicopter fly in this coming weekend?
Maybe the following weekend we can get out a do some flying. Would
really like to pick up training again with Samual and my Dad. I will try to
